	Touriseum In Trauttmansdorff Castle once the holiday residence of the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, there is now an entertaining museum experience, the South Tyrol Museum of Tourism, called the ‘Touriseum’ for short. It is the only museum in the Alps devoted exclusively to the history of tourism.

	Scena Castle You will be amazed by the extraordinary beauty and the majesty of Scena Castle. It was constructed in approximately 1350 and was bought by Archduke Giovanni d’Austria in 1845, who used to love this area. The Archduke then transferred the castle to the Counts of Merano, who have owned it up to date. At the inside of the castle you can admire a vast collection of ancient arms and beautiful rooms in Renaissance style with many precious paintings.

	South Tyrolean Fruit Farming Museum Do not leave Lana before visiting the South Tyrolean Fruit Farming Museum. It is the first of its kind in South Tyrol and displays the various cultivations, which could be found in this region during the course of the years, over approximately 2,000 m².

	Juval Castle Of particular interest is without doubt a visit to the Juval Castle. It was built in the 13th Century and currently serves as home for the king of the “eight thousands”, the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner. The castle can however still be visited and it is definitely worth it, as in its interior you can admire art collections and a picture gallery of amazing beauty.

	Typewriter Museum You should also pencil in a visit to the Typewriter Museum in Parcines, which is dedicated to the inventor of typewriters, Peter Mitterhofer, a carpenter who was born in Parcines. Inside the museum you can admire about 1,200 models. However, 900 of the models are kept in an archive, which can only be visited upon request. The typewriters in the museum date back to a time period between 1864 (year of invention) to about 1980. The museum gives visitors an insight into the development of this important object during the course of a century.
