Located on a natural terrace in front of Merano at 363 metres above sea level, Marlengo offers incomparable beauty and harmony. It is immersed in fruit gardens and in spring is transformed into an immensely blooming location. Marlengo is surrounded by high mountains, which provide a panoramic view rich in contrast.
It is the ideal place for spending some quiet and peaceful days. This region is further appreciated by those, who like to go for walks or enjoy excursions by bicycle. The sporty amongst you, and in particular tennis players, will be impressed by the vast offer of sports facilities in the village.
The historical-cultural attractions in Marlengo are numerous. Worth a visit is the old parish church, the Santa Maria Assunta parish church, which was built in neo-Gothic style in 1900, and the San Felice Church with its water source, which is said to have curative powers.
Finally you can visit the “Marlinger Waalweg” irrigation canal. The path is about 13 kilometres long and extends across the irrigation canal in Marlengo. It was constructed in 1737 and closed in 1756. A walk along this canal provides visitors with the sensation of having lived in a natural kingdom for a short while. We recommend you not to skip this experience.
