28/01 – 29/01/2012 Val Passiria Icefight – International ice climbing event This year the third edition of the international ice climbing event "Icefight" takes place in Corvara in Val Passiria. 09/04 – 22/04/2012 Lana Blossom festival in Lana With the Blossom Festival in Lana we welcome the spring and celebrate it with a varied programme. A special highlight is the "Street Market of Regional Delicacies". 09/04/2012 Merano Haflinger horse race Also this year the traditional Haflinger Horse Race at the racecourse in Merano opens the local racing season on Easter Monday. 13/04 – 14/04/2012 Naturno Ötzi alpine marathon Mountain biking, running and cross-country skiing at the Ötzi Alpine Marathon in Naturno themed "from the valley blossom to the glacier". 29/04/2012 Merano Half-marathon Merano-Lagundo As every year the Sport Club Merano organizes the Half-Marathon Merano-Lagundo on the 1st of May. It is accompanied by the "Marathon-Fest" on the promenade. 12/05 – 29/05/2012 Lana Wild herbs days in Lana A classic 42.195 km. long triathlon featuring mountain bike, running and ski events which takes participants from the low-lying valley apple orchards and vineyards right up to the high mountain glaciers with fantastic views of Juval Castle, summer residence of Reinhold Messner, well-known mountaineer and explorer, half way up on the Naturns Sonnenberg... 17/05 – 20/05/2012 Val Passiria Oldtimer festival Passiria In cooperation with the Racing Team Merano the second International Oldtimer Festival in Val Passiria takes place. The historical vehicles meet in San Martino and San Leonardo as well as on the Monte Giovo pass. 24/05 – 28/05/2012 Merano Walk of the flavor Exhibition and tasting of gastronomical Italian dishes. 03/06/2012 Val Passiria Andreas Hofer public run The Andreas Hofer public run takes place in San Martino in memory of the renowned Tyrolean freedom fighter. The day ends with folk music. 15/06 – 17/06/2012 Merano Asfaltart – International festival of street art Clowns, artists, musicians, dancers, puppet players, fire-breather and acrobats from all over the world meet in city center of Merano and enchant the audience. 29/06 – 08/07/2012 Merano South Tyrol jazz festival Daily Jazz Musik on the streets and places of Merano with many international Jazz stars from all over the world. 04/08 – 05/08/2012 Lasa Marble and Apricot "Marble and Apricot" is a traditional cultural festival in Lasa with a varied framework program that totally revolves around the Lasa marble and the Val Venosta apricot. 23/08 – 20/09/2012 Merano Merano Music Festival A significant event for classical music with famous orchestras and ensembles that emphasizes on another music style every year. 11.09. – 18.09.2011 Senales Transhumance in Val Senales The transhumance is an old tradition in Val Senales which is still practiced the same way as hundred years ago. This event is celebrated with a huge festival. 20/10 – 04/11/2012 Merano Autumn in Merano In Merano the autumn is celebrated with many varied events all revolving around the vintage and fruit crop. 19/10 – 21/10/2012 Merano Grape Festival The grape festival in Merano is the oldest harvest festival in South Tyrol and every year it attracts thousands of visitors with its varied program. The highlight is the pageant on Sunday. 24.11.12– 06.01.13 Merano Christmas Market Merano Every year in Advent the promenade of Merano turns into a fabulous Christmas Market where pastries, hot spiced wine, carvings and much more Christmassy things are offered.
