From the Adige Valley, more precisely from the Tesimo plateau, it is easily possible to reach the Trentino region via a transition called the Palade Mountain Pass which opens to the West. Tourists can easily take the road, which is in great condition and leads from Lana to the splendid Val di Non Valley.
Once you have reached this beautiful valley, you will find four little villages: Proves, Lauregno, San Felice and Senale.
Proves is located at 1,420 metres above sea level and offers a typical rural landscape. The mountain landscape is enriched by numerous farms of such particular beauty, that it provides a lasting impression. The village’s parish church was constructed in a neo-Gothic style between 1870 and 1876 by the artist Franz Xaver Mitterer. Inside the church you can admire precious paintings.
Lauregno and Proves are part of the German speaking communities of the Val di Non Valley. This village is located at 1,182 metres above sea level and is surrounded by imposing mountains: the Brenta mountain group to the South, the Maddalene mountain group to the East and the Presenella glaciers to South-East. It is clear that the panoramic view from this village is simply breathtaking and provides a suggestive feeling for everyone.
San Felice and Senale are located at 1,265 m and 1,342 m above sea level respectively. You will find that these two alpine villages have a lot to offer in terms of relaxing holidays in direct contact with nature.
Furthermore these villages offer numerous excursions; along the shore of the Lago di Santa Maria Lake (Tret Lake) for example, or through various larch forests or in direction of the imposing Macaion Mountain, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view. In Senale you can admire the beauty of the Santa Maria Assunta parish church, which is one of South Tyrol’s oldest sanctuaries and also a renowned place of pilgrimage.
